Children facing many types of life challenges are welcome to participate in ARTS programs. These children who come to ARTS are referred from many different sources including:
- Established social service organizations
- Healthcare and mental healthcare providers
- Therapists and counselors, professionals and associations dealing with children
- Schools
- Military family service provider
- Churches, synagogues and other such organizations
- Family members
ARTS helps children facing a broad range of life challenges including:
- Extreme or immediate crisis situations - such as chronic or terminal illness, loss, trauma, or divorce
- External personal challenges - including abuse, neglect, or homelessness, socio-economic disadvantage, military families and more
- Internal personal challenges - including mental, physical, emotional or behavioral challenges, self-image or self esteem issues and more
